What are five things that make you unique?
Submitted by RA<3TA.
1. I am married to someone named Stormie Gale and yes, that is really her name(all voxers know her as Fightinggale).
2. I practice Taijiquan(or Tai Chi)
3. I am an avid fan of Doctor Who
4, I was raised on classical music, so that tends to make my perspective on music in general to be interesting(such is watching the Backyardigans and laughing at having a Gilbert & Sullivan done in a late 70s disco style!).
5. Believe it or not, I am actually a little shy(don't know if that is unique or not)

The seventh season of "American Idol" premieres tonight. Will you be watching, or are you over it?
Never watched it before and I have no reason to watch it now

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by the late Douglas Adams.
What's your favorite kind of homemade cookie? Share the recipe if you have it.
I would have to say that my favorite would be anything that Fightinggale would make! She's pretty good at baking!
BTW, does anyone know why the QotD title for today is Nom Nom Nom when the subject is about cookies?
Audio: What's your favorite carol or holiday song?
"Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day" I have forgotten who the composer is; oddly enough, when I suggested our choir sing that again this Christmas, the rest of my choirmates treated me to a chorus of "NO!" and began to look around the room for some kind of blunt instrument. If I can find the audio somewhere, you can see what I mean.
If you could perform alongside any artist (actor, dancer, musician, etc.), who would it be, and what would you perform?

After doing that trio by Henry Purcell on Sunday, I feel like I have already done it!
What's your alma mater?

Austin Peay State University. Great school for Musicians. Despite what Fightinggale may say about it, I still had a good learning experience there.
Goose Eggs for football, but so what? I was in the band! LOL
Do you tend to like music in particular genres, or are your tastes all over the place? What are your most and least favorite musical genres?
I could talk all day about music; as for favorites, well I have so many. It rather depends on my mood. Lately, I listen to choir music(mainly because I am practicing for the choir).
I do rather like music that will sort of "catch me off guard" or surprise me. For instance, this number here from Basia took me by surprise.
The Song begins in a minor key with her melody line starting on the 5th note of the scale("sol")and then she ends the phrase on a strong tonic(the 1st note of the scale, or "do")
The chorus she uses was rather unique, because she uses is what is known as "the piccardy 3rd" in her vocal and then goes back to the minor.
Look for the subtle differences in the chorus that begins with the phrase "They say true love" and you will see what I mean.
As I said, it caught my attention.
